Gold Laced Wyandotte is my pullet a roo?

Thanks for your all thoughts. At what age should I be able to tell for sure? My 4 yr old named “Goldie” and I asked him today what would he name Goldie if she is really a he? He said Goldie’s a rooster? I said maybe and he told me he’d have to think about it and get back with me

I'm actually leaning towards pretty pullet for now, unless things change in the coming weeks.

Thus far, the plumage pattern is nice and even....not terribly patchy. It's common for Wyandotte pullets to pink up early.

They are too young. All Wyandottes tend to get pinkish combs. Post pics of their combs at 8 weeks.

so I have my very first chicks we got about 4 1/2 weeks ago so they’re 5 weeks old now. I have 2 buff orpingtons and 2 glw. All 4 are supposed to be puppets however I have noticed that one of my “girls” has started developing a much more noticeable deeper red comb. Everything I’ve Red indicates this is a sign of a roo. I’m ok if Goldie turns out to be a roo but I’m just trying to figure out if she is a he or not. Any thoughts? First 4 pics are Goldie my one in thinking may be a roo. The last 2 are my other glw who i feel pretty confident is a pullet.

I am pretty sure it is a female. Why don’t you Google pictures of GLW roosters and hens on the Internet. The roosters have stripes of different colors over their bodies and many colors, not just gold and black.I would think it would have a slightly different color patterning by now. I could be wrong though, I have a GLW and she just looked just like her.

We have 2 GLW hens and I remember thinking they were cockerels at this age because their combs were so much darker than those of our other breeds. I think there is still hope for a pullet! S/he looks almost identical to one of our girls!
