Hello! I am brand new to this board and having chickens! We live in an area that 90% of the homeowners have laying hens and we are excited to join the 'new wave'

Question: Can we put Golden Comets with EE's (Ameraucana). The store sells them as Ameraucanas but I have a feeling that they are EEs.

We would like to get some of both chicks, but want them to be able to cohabitate. Is that ideal?

Also, are Comets referred to as something else? I don't see them listed as a breed most places that I look.

Thank you very much!
Danielle

You can put them with any breed of chicken

(except orientals, which the chances of you getting are VERY rare.

And yes, they're EEs - Feedstores never sell Ameraucanas, despite what they say.

Golden Comets are simply golden comets or golden sexlinks - They're a hybrid, so you won't find them on breed listings.

I have my Gold Sex Links (golden comet) in with my EE's, Black Sex Links, California White, Buff Orpington, and SLW without any problems! They will be fine.

Good luck and
