A friend bought us this chicken at a local farmers market. She's a golden comet, right?
She was freaked out when we got her but she is starting to calm down and trust us. She has found her rank with our other hen (last) and she dutifully follows the leader around the yard when they free range. She laid her first egg for us yesterday and it was huge! Bigger than the ones from the store. They said she was just under a year old. I think she is molting right now, lots of feathers falling out and I can see new growth underneath.
