Golden comets

I want to get a rooster for my girls which are golden comets. What are your suggestions as to type of roo I should get?

I guess it depends what your goals are. Protection? Breeding? Both? Golden Comets are a sex link hybrid, so breed of the rooster will not be so important in that case as the sex-link qualities do not breed true in subsequent generations.

I do not mind the breeding but was mostly curious which makes a good protector.

I personally like black australorp roosters and brown leghorn roosters but those aren't good breeds if you live in a cold climate. If you live in a cold climate I recommend rose comb brown leghorn roosters or Easter egger roosters.

I live in the mountains in the upper part of SC. I will get one of the Easter eggers as I have seen a good many roos up for trade or sell here where I live.
