Golden Cuckoo Maren hen or roo

Hello all! Question...I got these two at the same time...one has already started to lay, one is growing wattles... I'm guessing the one with wattles is a roo?

Those are hen feather patterns, a male would be showing red wing leakage at this point.

Ty...so they are both hens? Why would one have wattles and one not? Still fairly new to chickens...my first Marens. I appreciate the input!

Hens and roosters both have wattles. The one with wattles is probably laying since pullet's combs and wattles grow when they are sexually mature.

They both do but one has really really small wattles and the one with wattles doesn’t have big ones, chickens with that color are really easy to sex by color

Ah..yes...thought the larger of the two, who doesn't have wattles was the one laying. Ty again!
