Yet another Deathlayer question.
I’ve noticed one of my pure golden deathlayers has a white tail tip, is that normal? Does it mean she’s not pure? The first two are’t her that’s my white Jersey giant Deathlayer mix but she looks the same.

Last picture is the best I have of the pure. She is about 3months old

My older rooster developed some white in his tail . He is 5 years old now and didn’t have it when he was younger.
My black Cochin is at least five and her new feathers head have white tips, one was even fully white! (They got ripped out by my old rooster, that’s why I got rid of him)
I wonder if their feathers white with age like dog fur though that’s not very old

In the breed standard for gold, white in the wings or tail feathers is a major fault. Such an animal should not be used for breeding, but doesn't mean that the bird isn't purebred. Hope you find this helpful.

She’s just a backyard flock chicken so she won’t be used in any professional breeding, but does that still go OOS if she lost it as she aged? It fell out a couple weeks ago. I’m hoping it’s just baby feathers

Mine didn't develop the white in his tail until he became aged. He has also lost some of the white to his earlobes due to developing creases. He's an old man at age 7 .
