Golden Eagle attacked my girls.

Agreed, that doesn't appear to be the work of an eagle. My guess is another predator, likely of the ground persuasion, is to blame....which said opportunistic Golden Eagle saw as its next meal, hence obvious interest. Eagles are scavengers by nature. Unless you own dog(s) which could spook an aerial predator, why would it kill a chicken, and then leave only to circle overhead?

So very sorry for your loss. :hugs :(

@Alexandra33 I agree with you. I was thinking the same thing myself. There's just one problem, though. I thoroughly looked everywhere around the run, and there were no signs of forced entry. Not even a spot that something could crawl under the fence. Absolutely nothing.

I do see what you are saying, maybe the golden eagle was circling because it saw its next meal which was easy.

Whatever the predator was, I'll make sure it does not get in again. I'll double check the run.
