One of my New chickens Goldie Locks is supposibly a Golden LAced but she has a single comb and my former silver laced wynadotte had a Rose comb.

Can wynadotte have single combs?

Did you get her from a hatchery?
A lot of hatcheries cross comb types/breeds, but a Wyandotte should have a rose comb.

I got her from mypetchicken.com . I don't know where they order the chicks from.

Any other comb then a rose comb on a Wyandotte is a fault and shouldnot be bred. It means a mutt. Which is fine for mutt flocks but it marks it as other then a Wyandotte.

Single comb on a wyandotte would be "comb foreign to the breed" and a disqualification in the show hall. It is not uncommon to see single combed chicks out of Rose combed breeds, especially Wyandottes. While of no use in the show hall, they are sometimes very good in the type department. From a breeding perspective, all things considered, if that singled combed wyandotte excels in breed type you could still use her in a breeding pen, bred to a proper combed Wyandotte male. Rose Comb is dominant and most likely all chicks from that breeding will have rose combs. Note however, that you will see additional single combed chicks in future years, as the recessive single combs pop up now and again. Many wyandotte breeders will use a single combed bird in their breeding pens. They say that incorporating a single comb every now and then keeps good fertility over the course of years. I raise Buff Wyandotte Bantams and the best pullet I raised last year had a single comb. I used her this year for breeding and did not have any single combed chicks.

Breeding a single comb into rose comb stock reduces the quality of the rose comb, usually starting with the point at the top and to the rear, it also introduces a recessive into what otherwise is a dominant trait, so matings with future recessive single combs can produce the single comb, not good. They shouldnt be bred as All of their offspring will carry a recessive single comb on.

Then we can agree to disagree. All things considered I'll take a good typed single combed Wyandotte over a poor typed bird. I'll concede the point that it will introduce some comb flaws, which you'll have to select against in future years, but some of the varieties don't have a vast pool of flock resources to choose from.
