Hello everyone,

My Golden Laced Wyandot chick is five weeks old and is only four inches (breast to tail). She also isn't feathering out under her wings and is often cold. All of the other layers from her clutch are about an inch larger than her and are about twice her weight. She isn't loosing and weight and has recently developed a congested noes. She sleeps a lot and has trouble staying warm. She has a little interest in food and water but only if it is near a heat source. She usually spends her day under a 125 wat heat lamp.

If you could please help me with this situation I would greatly appreciate it. I can post a picture of her down below if anyone would like me to.

You may want to post in the emergency section, I hope your birds is alright!

I agree and post in the greatest detail possible, ie, when this started, her age, etc. I hope she will be okay. I wonder if she is younger than the others, maybe from an egg added late to the incubator or a pullet egg.

The chick still hasn't grown very much and has developed ascites and possibly pneumonia, but her stuffy nose is gone. She still spends most of her day under the lamp sleeping. She is about six weeks of age, however, only has the growth of a two week old. I have been constantly monitoring her and found that she has ups and downs every day.
