I just had 7 red golden chicks hatch out. This is my first golden pheasant batch of the spring. 7 out of 7 eggs hatched! I've got another batch due to hatch in about a week, as well as some amherst pheasants due to hatch later in the month

Good for you Scott!
If you read my post about my hatch today maybe you can help me figure out what happened to my shipped eggs.
My home grown chick hatched with no problem but the shipped eggs quit developing at about a week, except for two eggs. One hatched and barely survived thanks to us helping it out of the shell ( it had gotten rolled around by the red golden chick). The other pipped internally and died...not sure if again, that was caused by it being rolled around by the new chick. I am aware that we may have done the wrong thing by helping the peach golden chick hatch...
Did you hatch yours directly on the wire or in cartons?

Congrats On The Hatch.I Have 16 Goldens In The Bator Now. Thay Are Shipped Eggs If I Can Get At Least Six To Hatch I Will Be Happy.Good Luck With The Other Eggs.

Shipped eggs are always a risk. Often times the eggs appear fine, but the air cell is no longer in tact. Its really hard to say what happen. Chicks that are helped hatch are typically weaker, but can eventually catch up. My golden chicks hatched on wire. Congrats on your hatch!
