Golden Pheasant Hatch!

Hatched my first lot of Goldens yesterday!

I was surprised how long they took from first pip to actually out of shell approx 48 hours....

Anyway I have 11 hatched from 12 eggs that went to lockdown (started off with 14 and had 2 not fertile)

One Chick seems to have 'lost' its legs..... it wont stand properly and its legs are sticking out behind it and its pushing itself along like a bulldozer..... any ideas whats its issue is?

Do you have any pictures of the chick With bad legs sounds like splayed leg if that is the case I would recommend doing a figure of eight with a elastic band with a bit of a straw in the middle round it’s leg also make sure the surface isn’t slippy I find kitchen roll works well I will try to find a picture of the elastic band method

no pictures with me right now...... im pretty sure its not splayed leg or slipped tendons as the chick was fine yesterday

it wasnt eating and i was giving it water and vitamins and it would just sleep..... it didnt survive the night

Ahh I am so sorry for your loss maybe he was just a weak chick I hope all your other ones are ok by the way you had a fantastic hatch rate
