Hi there is a pheasant in the neighborhood that now has a leg problem. She is hopping on one leg...Is there anything that can be done? she has been like this for 10 days..I think she is more than 10 years old...I am just trying to help this poor creature not sure what to do...I have photos

It looks like there may be an injury that has affected the sciatic nerve, but riboflavin (vitamin B 2) might help. Resting the leg and perhaps making a shoe with tape to place the toes in a normal shape might help. Can you see any swelling, redness, sores, or bruising along the entire leg? Riboflavin is an ingedient in some poultry vitamins, in vitamin B complex, nutritional yeast, and in beef liver. Here is a picture of a shoe made with tape, and can also be made with a thin piece of foam and tape:

No redness or bruising or sores that i can see will try to check the entire leg. She is just keeping her weight off ...When i tried to look and brush off her leg to make sure there was no splinter or such...she started to drool then did something weird like opening and closing her mouth as if to talk..I was scared and thought she was a gonner....but she's still hangin in! :)
