Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
I have two golden polish that are about 6 weeks old. I ordered 1 roo and 2 hens. One died as a chick and now I'm not certain if I have one of each or what. Also their top hat feathers are all black and most pics I have seen they are golden and black. Is this an age thing and when will I be able to tell who's a what? Here is a blurry pic of one of them. Their feathering is also different, with one being darker than the other. I'm totally new to chickens, but these are already my favorites.
