Golden Polish

A couple of weeks ago, I received my shipment from murray mcmurray hatchery and my "golden polish" don't have a fifth toe. Is this just poor breeding habits? Can they be carriers? Meaning if I breed them back together is there a chance I can get back to the standard?

Polish as a breed should not have a fifth toe so it's not a poor breeding habit.

Other crested breeds do have 5 toes though, Sultans, Slikies, Houdans for example.

Oh. I could have sworn I read that they had fifth toe. Perhaps it was sultans. I was looking at both for a breeding project and settled on polish. Sorry.

Hey don't be sorry, some crested breeds often get confused with each other. If you could post pics we could help ID the birds you have.
