I got him/her as the smallest and lightest colored golden sexlink of five chicks we bought at the local feed shop in November. This was originally the runt of the bunch and at about a month old we had to separate it from the other chicks because it was getting pecked so bad. All our chcks are very tame. After we put him/her back with the others, it seemed to grow much faster and soon became the head chick and now all the others follow his/her lead everywhere. I had assumed/hoped it was just a different and larger breed of white chicken versus the others that are more golden/redish but...early yesterday morning I heard what seemed like an attempt at it crowing. I think I already know...but I'll ask anyway, is this a rooster?
