Wow! I am in the almost exact same situation! I have a GLW and a SLW, both around 5 months, and they aren't showing any signs of laying, but they are both getting pretty HUGE! Unfortunately I am completely new to this, so I have no idea!

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
It’s alright I’m a first time chicken mama myself 😊 she’s my only one and I love her just as much as I loved my childhood kitty

I’m new to backyard chickens also! I have a SLW and a GLW. Both are around 23 weeks. My SLW has been laying for 2 weeks, but my GLW has only laid three times and all were shell-less eggs!! Hoping that will straighten out with time. I also have a Rhode Island Red that lays huge eggs everyday and a Barred Rock that lays everyday. I love my girls!!!!

I also have a SLW that is 21 weeks and not laying yet. Barred Rock and White Leghorn are the same age and both have been laying for a week or so. 3 Brahmas and 2 Polish, which I am sure are not even close to laying. All the same age.
