"Goldie" Breed, RIR and Leghorn cross?

Hello,
This is my first time using the forum. We have a small flock of Barred Rocks and just added three more month old chicks, we were told that they are "Goldies", a cross between a Rhode Island Red and a Leghorn. We are thinking that they should be good layers. My two young daughters have fell in love with them already.
Anybody out there heard of this breed or have any experiences, good or bad?

No experience with "Goldies" but did want to welcome you to BYC. The cross also does sound like the girls should be good layers and if your daughters love them already - they sound like keepers

I also have never heard of them referred to as Goldies and remember they wouldn't be a breed, but a hybrid. Do you have any pics of them and do you know whether the White legorn was the mother or the father ?
