I’m going to be gone for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I’m going to have a friend come over twice a day to let my chickens out then put them away. I’m creating a document outlining everything she has to do. Is there anything that I should tell her. It’s my girls’ first winter, they’re only 7 months old. It’s just starting to snow hard right before I’m getting ready to leave. I live in Michigan so we get a lot of snow. So far, my girls don’t seem to be too fond of it. :wee

I would get a bale of straw or two for your friend to spread out on the snow so the chickens will have something to walk on with snow on the ground.

Just go over your essential daily routine on your friend's outline.
Try not to overwhelm them.
It is best if you can walk them through your twice daily routine with you and the document in hand so it will make more sense when you're gone.

Excellent advice.
Writing the document as you go thru the daily chores will be enlightening,
so much we do without really thinking about it until you have to explain it to someone else.
