Black Copper Marans come in two varieties: feather legged and non-feather legged. French are feather legged and English are non-feather legged. They are both still true Marans.

I think it is more by which standard you go by. The French standard, which is considered to be the authority by most people, says sparsely feathered with feathering only on the outside toe. The standard which is being proposed to the APA is as close as possible to the French standard. The English standard is much looser and allows for clean legs.

I live in Ky and am looking buy a few more eggs. I don't like to have shipped and was wondering where you are located. The last time I had some shipped I paid 50 for 14 eggs and only got 5 to hatch.

Thanks.

price reduced. eggs are fertile. I have checked the fertitility and you can see the bullseye very clearly.

Just curious about how much your eggs were reduced.. I have 3 a friend gave me in the bator now...

down from 30.00 a doz to 24.99 I am just trying to give everyone a break in the prices. I had to pay way up there for my eggs and I don't think it is right to charge an arm and a leg for the eggs. If I can't sell them today then I am putting them in the bator. I will end up with too many bc marans. I am out of room and we have been trying to down size but no one wants to buy chickens or ducks here where I live. so dh is putting over half our flock in the freezer tomorrow. I have over 100 chickens and no where to keep them. he is talking about getting rid of all of them. we just don't have the room.

That's a good deal. If i didn't have some in the bator now I would order them, or if I knew mine won't hatch. I'm limited on space too. Don't get rid of them though!!!! Don't let him do it!!
