Hello. Big fan of this page for a while now... just decided to join today. I don't know why it took me so long... but here I am.

We started a backyard flock this spring/summer. Since out initial start at 15 chicks (10 Isa Brown hens,3 Silver Laced Wyandote hens, 1 Light Brahma hen and 1 Barred Roo) and 5 Rouen ducks (1 drake, 4 dames), our flock has grown with the adoption of 7 Bantams, 4 Australorps, 1 Dark Brahma, 1 Feverolle, 2 Silkies, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Leghorn and 2 Peking Ducks. They enjoy foraging and running around on a fenced 1/2 acre. I used to be terrified of birds. However, now that I have my own... I definitely see their appeal. CHCIKENS ARE NUTS! My 15 year old daughter and I are absolutely in love.
