Hello and thank you for allowing me to join your community, been using it as a source of learning for some time so thought it best I join and hopefully give back in time.
I live in North Wales with my girlfriend having moved here 4 years ago to escape the rat race of London and the South East. I have had 10 hens since August last year, 5 Lohmann Browns, 3 Rhode Islands (I think) and 2 Bantams. My girlfriend has 2 white call ducks. They are all allowed to free range, some who take this to the limit when they end up in neighbours gardens and kitchens and end up getting brought home like naughty children.
I love the inquisitive nature of the hens and the fact that they all seem to have their own different personalities/traits, but the best bit for me is when I walk up to the garden and get 8 to 10 hens come charging from under the bushes and plants towards me looking for food.
Retired early, spend most of my time in the garden, up the mountains or out kayaking..... living the dream
