good books for teens

Lol, I didn't realize how old this thread was, and when I did, I skipped over all the other pages to today's posts. I won't add the ones that I've already seen listed--there are some good ones there!

Author's:
Sharon Shinn
Tamora Pierce
Diana Wynn Jones
David Eddings
Robert Jordan
Alan Dean Foster
Ellis Peters (especially the Brother Caedfael series)
Diane Duane
James Herriot
Orson Scott Card
Christopher Stasheff
H Beam Piper
Madeleine L'Engle

plus all the classics that you don't get assigned for school--they are classics for a reason

That's off the top of my head--I should go look at the bookshelves and see what I've forgotten to mention

I was reading Grisham, Rice, King, and Crichton when I was a teen (still do)... then I met hubby and he introduced me to Robert Jordan... all one big series and I'm anxiously awaiting the final book... tick tick tick...

WOT (Jordan) is probably a little less R than the others... but it's Fantasy... magic and whatnot... don't know if that's up your alley or not.

Grisham is a legal eagle, makes you think... so sad and scary sometimes... but worth reading.

Rice... Vampires, Witches and Whatnot...

Crichton is more Medical, Science, etc... ala Jurassic Park, A Case of Need, Sphere, etc.

Depends on your taste... for a decent mystery and some laughs I like Evanovich...

Oh, and let's not forget Old School... love me some Dickens (he's such a smarty pants!), Bronte, Austen... really just romance novels, but they are called Classics for a reason.
