Hahaha I heard of people packing with goats, but never seen it
thats awesome! I am leaning towards getting more of the unwanted goats, feeling it would be nice to give a good life time home to like you stated a dairy wether, one that would not really be great for meat and the person would be wanting to sell as a pet. There was a good point made about selling off kids of breeds that are wanted to help with the cost of feed and vet.
I have some time to think about it, go time is early spring for my chickens and then after that the goats! Maybe I will try to find fainting goats like I use to have years ago, they were so sweet and just ate everything, or I could combine a couple breeds, unwanted wethers and a breeding trio of Boars or something. There is enough useable land that I could have two separate fields, boy side (wether and a billy) and the girl area. Lots to think about. Mostly I just miss having goats and hate having a lot of unused land that is perfect for them to graze and help me keep it down, cause there is a lot...ugh.
