good chicken breeds for laying eggs

Quite a few as it turns out. Virtually anything you find at your local farm store will fit the bill.
Rhode Island Red
Wyandottes
Orpingtons
Austrolorps
Plymouth/Barred Rocks
Sussex

Just to name a few. The best layer is purportedly the Leghorn but I understand that it is quite nervous and flighty.
