Is it okay to use wood shavings or straw as a coop floor in warm (humid not dry) weather? The chickens won't need any warmth for most of the year. They have a well-ventilated coop. Any thoughts on this? Please post!

So is it okay to use in warm weather? Usually here it's between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius.

I got my birds during the summer when we were having a heat wave. I decided to try sand at that time based on the information in the following article.

I loved the sand and kept it until the fall when I changed to deep litter. It felt to me like the sand kept the coop a bit cooler. I might switch back to sand when it gets warm again and just use deep litter in the colder months.
