Trying tell if there male or female? Read somthing about I white dot on the head of the males.... can any one tell me where this "dot " is and how big it is?

thanks I have a black lab also named Bella,and black cat named Thomas and now black chickens ........ hummm Here Oregon / the other "O" state.

Welcome to BYC. You are correct, males have the white dot on their head. I dont believe the size has anything to do with it. Pullets usually show some red feathers neck down.
 
If you bought straight run, the difference between the cockerels and pullets will really show at 6 weeks, when they are feathered out. The males will take on a Barred Rock look while the pullets will stay virtually black with just some red/copper/gold leakage on the necks and chest.

Sorry I don't have more and better photos of young BSL pullets, but here is what I have. Ignore the ISA Browns in the photos.
