good dog story

My nieghbor's new puppy got in the yard a couple of times and chased the girls. Each time he was quickly caught and removed. We fixed the fence and any places he could dig through. He is now spending two weeks at puppy boot camp being trained, and the owners have bought a crate for him. My chickies are safe, the puppy is getting the training he needs, and I'm still on good terms with my neighbors.

Just thought everyone would like a good dog story for a change.

Thats good that he is getting trained. Hopefully when he comes back he wont try to get your chickens again.

The best training a pup can get is from a roo. The second time he is beat down by the roo, he will not bother the chickens any more.

My dachshund gets a daily dose of discipline from chicken boot camp!! Rosey and Margaret, the drill instructors! will peck her in a minute if she gets too near them, so I can imagine a rooster, being bigger than my hens probably would give a good sharp lesson to a puppy!!

That's great! We have neighbors like that too. They have a Newfoundland and she is the biggest sweetest teddy bear of a dog. When she was a pup she was a jumper and almost took down the fence a few times as she got bigger. Jumping against it I mean. She was curious about the chickens, but more interested in playing with our dogs.
I just love it when people do right by their pets!​

Your neighbors are to be commended for being so responsible (hopefully they are going to boot camp with the dog - usually people need training more than dogs do!).
You should reward them with some fresh eggs!
