Proud of my dogs today.
It's cold, grey, and rainy. They've been sitting inside by my desk looking out the window watching the chickens in the coop. All of a sudden I heard them growling. I looked up, and sure enough there was a grey fox trotting out from the woods making a beeline for the coop. I released the kraken. The dogs brayed; the fox darted; the chase was on. I heard them barking and barreling through the woods. After a while two very happy dogs came bounding back to the house.
I know the fox got away, but I'm in an area where I can't shoot them and my dogs are too dumb to stay away out of the traps.
Usually after a good chase, we don't see the fox for several weeks. Run is electric, and haven't had anything get in yet. Fingers crossed that the run holds.
