It's been a few days since i discovered my Silver Muscovy hen, Montie, was sitting on a TON of chicken eggs(bantam cochin) along with about 7 of her own eggs. Just yesterday I finally went out and took all the chicken eggs away because of the terrible experience of letting another hen hatch chicks...she squished them and i only got 4/15
Well the final count was 33 chicken eggs!
and about 7 duck eggs... I took all the chicky eggs and brought them inside to candle them. I was sure that most were gonna be bad, thats a lot of eggs.. so i was pretty AMAZED to find that 29/33 were good & growing!!!
I was just awestruck! She has done a wonderful job sitting on these babies! I have had a couple of my moms extra roosters here while they found new homes but i am really hoping that most of them are from my Sizzle rooster... and secretly praying that some of the girls were still holding onto Mr.Fuzz, my recently deceased frizzle roo... lol
