good egg layers for Aus?

I was just wondering what chickens are good egg layers and do some chicken breeds lay for longer periods of time (years)? I live in tasmania australia.

any variety of leghorn or legorn cross they are excelent layers

Well, your own Australorp is supposed to be one of the best layers, but I don't know for how many years. I have had them, love them, but I never separated them from the other breeds to see how many eggs were laid by whom. I still have one Black Australorp that is over 6 years old.
