Good EGG or bad EGG

So heres the story,

silkie hen sitting in empty nesting box for about a week.

moves to new box one day ontop of some eggs,

I take those eggs and put new eggs under her (hers were not fertile, these were)

She sits on them for half of yesterday and last night

today midday shes back to her empty box.

I move eggs to her original box.

What gives? She NEVER left that box for a week...

Do you think the eggs are OK to still try and hatch, she was only on them for about a day or so, maybe less.

It sounds like she was only off those eggs for a few hours. They are probably fine. You can find a lot of posts on here where stuff like that happened and the eggs hatched. I had one that did that and the eggs were cold. I just moved the hen back on them. She hatched 11 out of 11.

What probably happened is that the broody took her daily constitutional and found a hen on her regular nest when she got back so she got confused and went to another nest. That stuff happens a lot.

I really hope they are ok. Not that I would be completely upset if it didnt work, i just think it would be kinda cool

Im gonna keep an eye on her and see what happens. I figured and hoped it would be OK since she was just starting to sit on them.
