ok so i’m currently feeding my ducks “Purina Flock Raiser” and once my girl starts laying i am planning on adding oyster shells to their diet. i also give them whole corn everyday.

for treats they get the mealworms, minnows, vegetables, and fruit (at least 1-2 of these daily)

any adjustments i should make to their diet?

i have a 1 year old pekin boy (being petsit at the moment), a 15ish week old khaki girl, and two ducklings that are around 5 weeks (1 boy 1 girl)

A lot depends on the per centage of calcium in your feed....they may not need oyster shell. Some treats also offer calcium.

Consider how much corn you give daily and how many treats. The flock raiser is a balanced feed. Too many extras can put on the pounds. This extra weight can affect fertility and egg laying health of the duck hen.

About 85 to 95% of a duck's diet is grasses so if free ranging is not in your flock's future then supplementing or offering greens will be worthwhile.

I recently sold my flock of 41 ducks. They were mostly Pekin, Cayuga, and crosses. They ranged in ages of 5 years down to 9 months.

right now, i give about a cup of corn per week but they don’t even eat that much. they do eat a TON of mealworms though!

I only use mealworms once in a great moon. It is like giving crack to an addict. Plus they are expensive when you buy for for 40 plus ducks and 100 chickens and 400 chicks.
