I heard a new and very robust egg song while gardening last evening. One I have never heard from my established egg layers...the loudest bak-cahhhhk I have ever heard with a strange little voice crack in the middle. I have heard leghorns have a good rep for producing. This is her third egg. She went from little tiny, the size of a quarter to a medium to an XX large in three tries!:thumbsup

Isn't it funny how we can recognize some of the voices,
at least enough to know when there's a new one sounding off?
I just heard one the newly laying pullets sound off,
she is quite squeaky on that final note!
