Never been in this situation before. What do I do?
The "pip" looked like barn doors, but more towards the small end. (first picture)
Second picture is what it looked like when the shell was either knocked off by the chick in the egg or kicked of by one of the hooligans running in the bator. I can see the chick moving in the shell, but I "think" it has pipped something in there, there's alot of blood, but I don't see any vessels in the membrane that is exposed.

I've had them do that. It's touchy, but I have seen them make it. If you feel it's necessary to intervene I'd start by putting a dab of flour to stop that bloodflow if you can find the point it is leaking. You would be suprised how much these little guys can lose and not die. It may look worse than it is. I hope he makes it!

As long as you see the chick inside moving about, don't worry to much. It may later need help getting out cause it will be weak. I haave one with a little blood like that and I did have to help a little, now it's healthy however it is the smallest chick in the brooder. and joe is right it's not "normal" but "normal" is just a setting on ur washing machine.

I don't think you can do anything but wait. That is a lot of blood which doesn't bode well for the chick and also makes it likely that you'll do more harm then good if you get in there. One of mine pipped low like that and there was some blood (not that much) and it eventually made it out ok.

I would wait. Sometimes they are overzealous at getting out and break some of their own vessels. The red blood there means it isn't ready so you shouldn't help anyway. Give it 24 hrs since its first pip. Sometimes shells can have fine calcium deposit "fractures" and can cause funny looking first pips.
