I'm not kidding. I have a four day old chick that has tried to crow, more than once! ....talk about an early bloomer!

It's a pretty funny sound and hard to describe. Almost like a trill in that baby voice. Why do I have the feeling I have a troublemaker in the works?

Look at the bright side. That chick has saved you the agonizing you'd have been doing in a couple of weeks trying to figure out if it was a boy or a girl.

Actually, I'm getting pretty good at telling the boys from the girls right out of the incubator. The girls have absolutely no color on their foreheads and appear completely black, and the boys have a little fleshy spot at the base of their beak where their forehead starts. I probably couldn't tell on another breed, but I've raised enough rosecombs now to be able to tell.
