Good hatcheries

I want to get some more chicks this spring I want a French black copper maran, buff laced polish, and full sized Cochin. I would have liked to get them from mcmurray but they have a minimum of six and I don’t have enough room for six more chickens. Dose anyone know a good place to get them? (must deliver)

Try Meyers or Mt Healthy, but its very late in the year to order plus everyone is panic buying chicks.

We have a pre order from Mt Healthy but we ordered them before we started looking at more breeds.

You could order 2 of each, decide which you prefer and sell the remainder.
What size is your coop/run?

You may find that the Polish top crest gets pecked on by the other two breeds. Polish have a "vaulted" crest so be aware. A friend of mine found this out the hard way, she ended up having to separate the Polish from the regular chicks and ended up selling them. IMO Polish and bantams should be kept in a separate coop from the LF ... although other's may disagree. Think alot depends on the other breeds too and having enough room in a coop/run.

I like Meyer a lot, but their minimum might also be 6. My Pet Chicken does small orders I think. But it's pretty slim pickins at all hatcheries right now since most people put in their spring orders over the winter. So you just may have to go with whatever hatchery has the breed you are looking for. Or if you just need more chicks, you might have to be more lenient on what breed.
