I was just wondering if anyone has had good hatches with the Hova-Bator 1588 incubator? I just got mine the other day and I set the eggs yesterday.

I just bought a Genesis 1588 with auto turner and I am on day 14 of my first hatch. I set 29 shipped eggs and have 26 developing with only 3 clears with 1 week left to go! I am very happy with it so far ~ I could just set it and forget it ~ but I am constantly checking just to make sure is still going well! It is going to be a very long week.

Is it good? Hmm. . . Well let's see, shall we?

With the 1588, I had to do the following:

check humidity and add water if needed

. . .

have chicks hatch.

With the Little Giant I had to:

check humidity, add water if needed

check temp 10+ times a day and readjust it

buy a fan for it that costed just as much as it did, and have it NOT WORK

in the end, watch ZERO chicks hatch TWICE.

Soo. . . . I would say the 1588 is great, wouldn't settle for any other.

I have set many hatches with the 1588, most have gone well. Once the humidity and temp is set you can forget about it. I think the only problem I have encountered is during lockdown the humidity tends to be lost easily.
