I know that the chicken farmers leave lights on 24/7 so that their cornishX eat all day and night to make them grow faster. What I was wondering is if I do the same with my chickens will they mature and start to lay faster?
Good idea/bad idea?

they might, but i dont think so. And why rush it? if you have a decent laying breed they will start soon enough.
