today i went and bought some horrid looking ladies of the night, if you will... I mean these gals have been around the block a time or two, but the guy i bought them from said they were good layers, so i got a few( I guess they came from some really rotton living conditions, like boxes, they were just for egg production). These poor girls are missing feathers, part of their beaks, they look awful, but I brought them home telling my kids that with some tlc they will be looking good as new in no time. Well after I left them in the coop for an hour or so, I went and checked on them and somebody left me a nice big fat brown egg on the floor as a thank you! I love chickens....
