yep more rain for use today to and my girls aren't happy especially sine we are running drain lines though the yard so there's trenches in the yard full of water and they cant take there normal routes

Well still more rain I really don't think our ground can handle anymore and more poor girls are depressed they hate staying in the coop

They should be fine they are just used to being out all day free range chickens don't like to be locked up unless they are sleeping lol

Ugh. I have to do a perimeter check today.

Let peach (my mutt) out at around 6am this morning. Was out with her. No other signs of life roaming the property.

Hour or so later hubs is heading off to work and there's three dogs?!? That I know the shepherd belongs to someone who lives across the street from us (hubs left the gate open one evening and this dog scared the ever living crap out of me when I had peach out for an evening pee) and there were two terrier types as well...think they're all together anyway. So I check our gate - closed...okay. Walk em up the driveway open the gate let them out tell them to go home, off they trot.

Our lot is fully fenced. No idea how they got in. So...perimeter check cause...well the girls will be moved out shortly but I don't want random dogs causing trouble cause their owners can't be bothered to keep an eye on em or make sure they stay on their land....

(Note, no aggression, the shepherd especially was pretty sweet but...come on)

I get it. Fencing is expensive. But leash or supervise. Cmon.

I agree with that I had a bad run in with some dogs about a month ago and they killed one of my baby chicks and injured another so I don't like roaming dogs

For sure not. I mean my dog, is one thing. I know she's not going to harm them. But strange dogs...and a pack of strange dogs...are a whole other story.

Yea we had a pack of wild dogs running around those are the ones that got my chickens they also got our neighbors baby goats and a young donkey so we have been trying to get rid of roaming dogs because they are causing us hard ache

Oh dear my for sure!!!

Some days I feel like such a curmudgeon...people and their pets that they allow to roam free...where we used to live, neighbors had three dogs...that they would always let free range. The oldest one had a known history of aggression - would snap at me and peach if we went for a walk, would snap if it was just me, bit another neighbor....just makes me so mad, why can't you manage your pets?

And cats...just had the mother in law texting me yesterday "want kittens someone's cat had kittens". (One, allergic right here. Two, uh, to quote bob barker spay or neuter your pets!)

Yea defintlity should spay and neuter and it's cheap and they have deals going on all the time
