Hello, My name is Rob and I have been addicted to chickens for about 15 years. I live on Long Island in NY with my wife, two daughters, three dogs, two rabbits and 12 chickens. I just recently converted my kids old playset into my new hen house and the birds love it. I currently have 6 layers (3 Barred Rocks, 1 Red, 1 Comet and 1 Leghorn) and 6 pullets (2 Silver Wyn, 1 Buff Oph, 1 fancy ? and 2 J Giants). I just recently combined the two groups in the new house. So far so good. One of my Giants is a cockeral. Big Boy! Not sure what to do with him. Would like to keep but Township says no no. He's not to loud as of now so we will see what happens. Anyways, hope to speak with you folks about all things chicken.
and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a nice flock! Hope your rooster turns out to be a quiet one and you are able to keep him....you could also try your state thread if anyone local is looking for a flock roo if you decide to rehome him
