Good Morning from Wisconsin!

Thanks for the welcome - have been reviewing all the info on adding young chicks to existing flocks. Have 5 Easter Eggers, 3 Australorps, 1 hen and 1 roo Polish. They are all 8 months. I have 20 chicks ordered for week of 3/30; 4 each Buff Orpingtons, Golden Laced Wyandotte, RIR, Partridge PR, and BJG. One of my Australorps is off-and-on again broody. Read that introducing the chicks to a broody coup could work. Any thoughts??

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I've never had to work with this kind of broody. I would definitely post here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/18/chicken-behaviors-and-egglayingand read these links https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/broody-hens https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/encouraging-or-discouraging-broodiness-in-your-hens

Enjoy your flock and welcome to ours!
