a friend of ours was at our house this morning when we were leaving for work.. he is the one that gets chicken duty when we are away for a night or most recently while my hubby was in the hospital.. we are lucky to have someone that shows up at sun up and sun down to release and secure the chickens..
this morning he was outside and i was letting my girls out.. like every morning.. i open the door and greet each bird as they jog down the ramp.. one always squats and holds up the bunch.. one always tries to scoot around me..
so he laughs at me and says "do you say good morning to each chicken everyday?" i just laugh and say "yup, if they want to get out they have to give in to a little snuggle and scratch from mama"
then i said "don't you?"
heh.. made him laugh.. he just shook his head.. he's all rough around the edges and is a tough redneck mountain kinda guy..
i just love my girls..
