Thank you for all the messages. It is so great to see so many of us chicken lovers.

We have been working on our 1/3 of an acre dreaming of the day when we will have 2 or more acres. Soon I hope. But anyway we have been preparing for the garden, the chicken coop (where to put it, and which one to build), the rabbit hotel (again where to put it and which one to build) I am happy to say we have all of that worked out. The property is looking good and I can not wait to get going. The garden patch is cooking right now and will be ready for my transplants by Aug 20th according to the Farmer's Almanac.

I am so happy that my husband is with me on this 100% this time around. One other time when I brought all of this about five years ago he just laughed at me. He told me that I did not have the time for all of that and that I would never do it. My husband forgets that when I am passionate about something nothing stops when. I was a Girl Scout leader for six years. I know about a driving force. Not to mention I have always wanted a farm.

We really worry about what is in our food, how our food is grown and how it is taken care of that he has done a 180. I wish we could do more but due to county codes we can only do this small plan on the size of land we have. Boohoo. But it gives me ample time to research and learn how to take care of all the other things I want to do. Life is full of learning and you are never to old to learn nor teach. I tell my girls that all the time.

Times have been rough the last couple of years for us and I have been stressing to my husband that we need to be more self- suficient. So I sent him fishing today with our youngest daughter.
I would love to get off the power grid as well. But these things they take time and money. But we have goal and we have a dream and I intend to make them happen.
Everyone have a great day.
Tammy
