Hi! I’m a new chicken owner, bought my first chicks at TSC about 3 weeks. Since then, i’ve bought some additional chicks from local chicken owners. I have 20 chicks now a mix of assorted bantams, 3 RIR, an EE, an olive egger, a copper Maran, 3 silkies, 1 black sex linked. I’m hoping all of my sweet bantams don’t turn out to be roos. I do have a neighbor lined up to take any unwanted roos. We’ve purchased and built a big coop and a small nesting box but my babies are still in the brooder currently because they’re so small. I plan to build a large nesting area and roost as they grow. Keeping our lab away is the biggest challenge right now. Excited to learn more about backyard flocks!
