Good morning!

We have an australorp, a bluebell, a ginger nut ranger and a speckledy, they seem to be settling nicely now.
We are first time carers of hens and we are loving every second.
What chickens do you have ?

I'm new also. First question about swiss flower hen with 2 chicks I think are about 2 months old
She is aggressive with other chickens and has not resumed laying. When should we expect eggs?

You have a nice variety of chickens. I love Black Australorp hens (very hardy, calm and gentle, and excellent layers), and have 7 of them. I also have 7 Black Sex Link hens, 4 Buff Orpington hens, and 7 Easter Egger hens. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome to BYC, so glad you joined the flock

Hi there can any one help me ?
One of my hens has just laid a soft shelled egg in the garden, it's the first time they have been free range, should I be concerned ?

Two of mine did that when it was their first experience of a thunder storm another did it when I was away so itl just be that something spooked them or they feel a little stressed about something but I wouldnt worry she will settle back down. Unless she is a older hen? could be getting close to the end of her egg laying days if shes not a young un any more?

No she is a young hen, around 19/21 weeks I was informed by the breeder..
There was a very big storm though the evening yesterday..
