I've been thinking of using miss in my yard and garden instead of grass, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations? Has anyone found any variety very good at deterring weeds?

If all you plan to grow is moss, that would be an option... if all your conditions are right. But... that's a challenge. pH, and lighting are tricky, and you wouldn't be able to expect it to be a uniform green carpet.

What kind of PH does moss like? we have a lot of moss growing in the yard already, it's mixed with the grass and the weeds, and gets full sun. It also has more of a yellow color than green, what do you mean by not having it be uniform? does moss change its color often?

Moss likes an acid soil. I'm just saying that you probably won't get an uniform carpet look. And, you'll get weeds mixed in. Your better plan might be to put some lime on your soil to make it more appealing to grass. It all depends on what your goal is.
