So I have been delayed in getting chickens as my basement reno and therefore garden were behind schedule. My Dad just told me he would help me build a coop in return for eggs! YAY! I could have a coop by fall

I'm so excited, it was looking a year away!

hmmm, ok trying to help here. if you wait till fall to get your coop, and then you go with chicks instead of hens that are already laying, you won't have eggs till next summer. so here's what you tell dad, he needs to go ahead and get the coop built asap, the sooner the coop is done, the sooner the chicks can be put in and the sooner you'll have eggs! (this also means you'll get your girls sooner)

hard to beat simple logic, and a daughters sad eyes, i know, i have two daughters!
