HI, does anyone use an online store they feel is very reliable to purchase chicks? Also, is there an online store that will let you purchase one or two chicks? Thanks for any help. Not even sure I'm posting this right. Sorry if I've made a problem.

Thank you for your help. I'm not sure yet if i will need to order but i will use this site. Also, thank you for your service of our country. I don't think we say it enough. You all have been in my prayers continuously. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE AMERICAN SOLDIER.

I would try Meyer, Ideal, Murray McMurray or Cackle depending on how many you are looking for. Meyer will allow you to order as few as 3.

thanks for the help. It's so nice to have others care enough to make sure you get answers you need. I am new to this and any help I get is appreciated.
God Bless

Meyer will ship as few as three chicks, depending on how far away you are. This matters because of transit time-- the longer in transit, the faster the chicks get cold. More chicks means they stay warm longer. If the chicks get too cold, or cold for long, they can die. Meyer can sex large fowl chicks for you if it's important to you if you get hens or roosters.

If you are looking specifically for bantam breeds, My Pet Chicken offers them sexed, and is the only hatchery to do so that I know of. Their chicks come from Meyer, but they have someone present to sex bantams, thus can sell them that way. They will also ship as few as three depending on your location.

Note that sexing isn't perfect (unless you are buying sex-linked chickens, whose coloration gives away their gender from day 1) so there is always a 10% chance it will be wrong, but it's more reliable than 'straight run'.

Good luck! :)

Do not use efowl.com I ordered 32 polish 8 or 4 dif colors I didn't get what I asked for. I ended up getting 2 many f one color
Not enough of another 4 chicks was dead when I got them they 1 month now and I have 8 left rest have died
I have raised many chicks never had so many sick ones before. When called to say something about it they said I was wrong they had heathy birds
That only time I ordered from hatchery will never again

I've ordered from meyer's hatchery before. All my chicks arrived alive "4" and customer service is top notch. Also have you considered looking on craigslist. Where i live we have a trading journal you can buy, which is pretty much a newspaper of just classified adds, so if you have something similar in your area you could try that. Good luck on your search.
