I have a couple of questions for the silkie people. His crest looks flat in the front is that ok, and from research I have done the beak is supposed to be a light gray am I correct? And are his feet good?

It's not it's full shape.. it still has feather sheaths on it. Are you asking about breeding, showing (at what level), or just in general?

And are his feet good?
Good separation of the toes (not sure if it's too much, but better than fused).. My (personal) issue.. the feathers coming out of the toes that shouldn't have any.. Not sure how much that counts against them..

Hopefully some more detailed folks will reply!

He’s only 5 months so he might grow into it. I was able to look at his parents when I bought him and they have very nice crests. I was looking to start breeding in general because I’m very interested in chicken genetics.

I did notice that there were feathers growing out of his middle toes but I thought that’s how they were supposed to be. I can’t find good pics of proper silkie toe spacing. From reading I think they might be overspaced, and more of a V shape

I'm talking about the left foot the index or first pointer toes and the firth toe.
I’m confused. The 2 outer toes are supposed to have feathers on them. Is that what you were referring to? I do notice the feather on his 4th toe on the right.
